Blue Grass Army Depot

Location
Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD) is a Strategic Mobility Power Projection ammunition depot and the primary Southeast Regional Distribution Point for all Department of Defense (DOD) munitions. Blue Grass Army Depot is located on I-75 between Richmond, KY and Berea, KY, 15 miles south of Lexington, KY.

Mission
BGAD’s prime mission is to receive, store, issue, maintain, renovate and demilitarize both conventional and non-standard ammunition for all DOD services. Support the Joint Warfighter by safely providing a full range of high quality Defense products and services at the right price, place, and time. Maximize Warfighter capability through Ammunition Standard Depot Operations (store, issue, receipt, inspect, maintain, and demilitarize) of conventional munitions, missiles, non-standard ammunition, and chemical defense equipment. Produce weapon system, combat vehicle and ammunition components to fill critical Warfghter requirements

BGAD supports U.S. Warfighters by providing immediate response and operational readiness support to joint units engaged in Overseas Contingency Operations. BGAD is also the Army’s sole source provider of non-standard ammunition for Special Operation Forces (SOF).

Our Vision is to become the Department of Defense’s Center of Excellence for multifunctional Depot Operations. Maximize Warfighter support by providing rapid, full spectrum, Standard and Non-Standard Munitions Operations support and modular, scalable and flexible non-energetic production capabilities. At Blue Grass Army Depot we are fully committed to providing high quality, low cost, safe, secure, environmentally responsible products and operations.

BGAD’s Chemical Defense
Equipment (CDE) warehouse is the primary distribution point for the Army’s Individual Chemical Equipment Management Program (ICEMP) and the Army’s sole source provider of Individual Protective Equipment (IPE)
BGAD capabilities include rapid industrial response, producing metal add-on components for weapon, ammo and vehicle systems.
