Duke Field is a military airport, and is also referred to as Eglin AFB Auxiliary Field #3. The base is located in Crestview, FL and is technically part of the larger, nearby Eglin AFB complex, but is essentially a small air force base in its own right.
Duke Field is primarily an Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) installation and home to the 919th Special Operations Wing (919 SOW). As an AFRC unit, the 919 SOW is operationally gained by the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), which is headquartered at nearby Hurlburt Field. The 919 SOW previously operated the AC-130A Spectre gunship aircraft prior to transitioning to the MC-130E Combat Talon I aircraft.

Duke Field is located three miles south of the central business district of Crestview, in Okaloosa County, Florida, United States.

History
Duke Field was one of the first auxiliary fields built on the Eglin AFB.
The installation is named after 1st Lt Robert L. Duke, who died in the crash on December 29, 1943. He was assigned as Assistant A-3 to the Proving Ground of the Army Air Forces Proving Ground Command at Eglin Air Force Base.
Mission
The 919th SOW trains at Eglin AFB to provide aerial refueling of special operations helicopters and long-range troop and supply infiltration missions in support of the Air Force Special Operations Command. Humanitarian missions are also conducted by 919 SOW, providing medical and other assistance to countries of the Western Hemisphere.
