Mission
NSA Panama City exists to enable warfighter readiness. The installation’s largest tenant command is Naval Surface Ware Center Panama City (NSWC) Division which is one of the major research, development, test and evaluation laboratories in the Navy. NSWC boasts expertise in engineering and scientific disciplines in the areas of mine warfare, expeditionary warfare, special warfare and diving and life support. NSWC and three other tenant commands: Navy Experimental Diving Unit, Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center and Center for Navy Ordnance Disposal and Diving, together make the installation a consolidated site for all Navy diving and salvage research, development, testing and training.
Currently, NSA PC hosts many other tenant commands, including Explosive Ordnance Disposal Detachment, U.S. Coast Guard Station Panama City, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Naval Branch Health Clinic Panama City,Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic, Navy Exchange, Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Naval Special Warfare Training Group 3 Detachment, Navy Federal Credit Union.
Currently, NSA PC hosts several project offices, including the Deployable Joint Command and Control System. The Base also hosts many other diverse tenant activities: Explosive Ordnance Disposal Detachment, U.S. Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Naval Dental Center Branch Dental Clinic, Navy Exchange Branch, Naval Hospital Pensacola Branch Clinic, Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Navy Publication and Printing Service Office, Naval Special Warfare Training Detachment, Personnel Support Detachment, Resident Officer in Charge of Construction.

Naval Support Activity Panama City (NSA PC) is located on beautiful St. Andrew Bay in Panama City Beach, Florida. It has direct, deep-water access to the Gulf of Mexico. Panama City Beach provides a perfect location and environment for conducting year-round training, testing and research. The activity totals 657 acres and houses 221 buildings. History
On October 1, 2003, the base was renamed Naval Support Activity, Panama City, reporting to the Commander, Navy Region Southeast. The R&D mission workforce was renamed the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City. The primary mission and work areas of the base remained unchanged. Population
We serve active duty Navy and Coast Guard permanent party personnel and families. In addition, the largest numbers of the Base population are comprised of hundreds of EOD/Diver students.

Directions
From the Airport
The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is located at 6300 West Bay Parkway, Panama City, FL 32409 and is approximately 22 miles from the base. If your sponsor is unable to meet you, transportation can be arrange through a commercial taxi, shuttle service or Ridesharing service such as Uber or Lyft.
The airport offers a Military Welcome Center for active duty, retired military personnel and Department of Defense employees. While waiting for a flight or a ride home, personnel can have access to wi-fi, snacks, drinks and children’s play area. In addition, a wealth of area information offered in free maps, books, and other pamphlets is available.
Directions to NSA Panama City by Automobile
If arriving by POV, highway access is via U.S. Highways 231 and 98. Highway 231, as well as State Routes 20, 22, 77 and 79. Highway 98 runs East and West and passes by the Naval Support Activity Panama City. Interstate 10 (crossing North Florida and the Panhandle East and West), is approximately 50 miles north of Panama City. If traveling I-10, look for HWY 231 South. At the intersection of HWY 231 and HWY 98 (in Panama City), turn right and travel along HWY 98 West. Cross over the Hathaway Bridge and prepare to turn left at the 2nd traffic light (Thomas Drive). Travel south on Thomas Drive and go approximately 1/4 mile and turn left on to the station via the Main Gate.
The Visitor Reception Center is on the right, just before approaching the gates. Please have a current copy of your vehicle registration and proof of insurance, along with a valid driver’s license.
Directions by Bus/Train
The Greyhound Bus Line’s Panama City office is located at 7808 Panama City Beach Pkwy.

Currently, there is no base transportation on this installation.
In-Processing
When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each Command handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
Naval Support Activity Panama City reporting procedures
Building 308 (Admin Office, 850-234-4523/DSN (436-4523). This office will provide newcomer orientation and indoctrination information and any further instructions.
Service members must bring with them: PCS orders, personnel records, pay records, and dental and medical files.
Uniform requirements for in-processing: Members must report wearing either summer dress whites or dress blue.
NDSTC student reporting procedures
Students arriving between the hours of 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, report to NDSTC (Building 350). Upon the first work day report to the NDSTC Quarterdeck. Students shall report in the proper uniform of the day.
If you are reporting prior to the convening date of your course, report to the Student Control Office at NDSTC to begin your check-in procedure. If you are reporting on the convening date of your course, report to the NDSTC Quarterdeck to find out where your class is located and inform your proctor that you need to check in at the Student Control Office.
Temporary Assignment Duty students must bring their orders, medical and dental records to NDSTC’s Student Control Office to begin their check in. PCS students are additionally required to bring their service record as well.
If you have administrative problems, please advise your proctor and come to student control for assistance.
Navy Experimental Diving Unit reporting procedures
Personnel assigned to NEDU should report directly to NEDU Administration Office (Building 321) prior to reporting to Personnel Support Detachment.
Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division reporting procedures
Upon arrival to NSWC PCD report to the military liaison representative, building 110, 2nd floor, Room 2M23 (Administrative office, 850-636-6257/DSN 436-6257). This office will provide assistance in completing travel claims, PCS entitlements and start command check in process.
All service members must provide the following: service record, medical record, dental record, PCS orders with detaching endorsements, transfer fitness report/evaluation, airline tickets and all applicable receipts involving PCS transfer.
All members must report wearing either summer dress whites or dress blue uniform.
New arrivals are assigned a sponsor to provide assistance with the PCS move. If you are making a PCS relocation and have not been assigned a sponsor, call your gaining command. Sponsors provide members with complete in-processing information.
