NOVEMBER 5, 2026 — Garrison leaders, project partners, and future residents gathered Nov. 4 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open Barracks Building P-6852, a modern facility designed to enhance Soldier quality of life and operational readiness.
The five-story building features 302 private bedrooms, 151 shared kitchens, and laundry facilities on every floor. Building P-6852 is one of three new barracks projects representing a combined investment exceeding $120 million, along with $2.5 million dedicated to furnishings. The facility will exclusively house Soldiers assigned to the 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade.
Sgt. Maj. Atarius Henley, the 2nd Infantry Division/ROK-U.S. Combined Division G-4 sergeant major, noted that modern housing reflects the Army’s ongoing commitment to troops stationed abroad. “This building provides a place where Soldiers can come and they can recover,” Henley said. “They can have a place that they can call home for the time that they’re here. It shows our commitment to our Soldiers, to American sons and daughters, and to our readiness as an Army force.”
For junior enlisted personnel moving from older barracks, the facility provides an immediate upgrade in living standards and communal areas. “I’m really grateful for the opportunity to be moving into a fresh barracks,” said Pfc. Lindsay Anderson, an aviation Soldier with the 4th Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade. “I’m happy that leadership put in the time and effort for all the enlisted Soldiers.”
The opening underscores a continuous garrison commitment to providing safe, well-equipped accommodations that directly bolster troop welfare and mission capability across Camp Humphreys.
